Biographical Info

TRUSS is a riff-driven, female-fronted hard rock quartet with roots in grunge, blues, and alternative metal. Taking influence from bands like Soundgarden, TOOL, Black Sabbath, and Paramore, their energetic performances breathe new life into modern, honest hard rock. TRUSS meets at the nexus of throaty, melodic vocals and a wall of carefully-curated heavy guitars.

Formed in 2018 while students at The Ohio State University, TRUSS consists of vocalist Hannah Crandall, guitarist Eric Kennedy, drummer Holden Szalek, and bassist Thomas Rastatter. TRUSS quickly gained traction around Columbus, Ohio by playing at various college clubs, events, and parties. They recorded (on campus) and released their debut single "Mayhem" in May of 2019, which to date has amassed over 600,000 streams across platforms. Following graduation, the band moved back to their hometown of Cleveland just before the pandemic. With the success of "Mayhem," Kennedy and Szalek spent the pandemic further honing their engineering skills to self-produce the band's music moving forward.

Since their reestablishment in Cleveland, TRUSS has supported national acts Everclear, Puddle of Mudd, Anberlin, Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss, Sponge, Royal & the Serpent, The Dollyrots, all-female Led Zeppelin tribute band Lez Zeppelin, and RIVALS, among others.

In July of 2022, TRUSS released their self-produced debut album "Reset My Head," which received coverage from media outlets such as Cleveland.com and Cleveland Scene Magazine. Later that year, TRUSS created and organized annual holiday charity concert "Rock the Halls" at House of Blues Cleveland.
